I started exposing my projects in October 2014 in the space of 1.2 m X 3.5 m sizes located in Cucubau storefront in Baia Mare, set up for customers and bystanders walking past the shop on the busiest sidewalk in the city.

The challenges are:

  • The work should have a double orientation, to be interesting both for customers inside the store as well as for the passersby, both groups benefiting from the details that attracts them.
  • Although in such a project most of the scenes are personal works being created with LEGO sets consistently modified or with parts which were individually purchased, being a toy shop with sales, I tried to incorporate certain unchanged and original LEGO sets (simpler ones, like machine, houses, boats or more complex ones like police station, fire station, mines etc.) that parents could purchase from the shelves on the spot.
  • LEGO themes are numerous and I have tried to present them as varied as possible, without interfering in an inappropriate way.
  • The details of each scene should be difficult to notice in a short time, so that at each visit, the viewer could find newer and newer details that have previously escaped the sight.
  • In order to not get bored those visitors/customers who come to the shop weekly, each project is exhibited for a period of maximum three months.
  • I design and build my work at home and I install it in the shop window during one night after closing time and thus I manage to keep the air of mystery alive for the little ones.

Diorama #1

Created on October 25, 2014, it was the first work for Cucubau storefront.

Diorama #2

Mounted on December 5th 2014, it is composed of two main parts, a medieval town and an area with two castles in conflict.

Diorama #3

Displayed on February 22nd2015, was mainly dedicated to the theme LEGO Technic.

Diorama #4

Mounted on May 1st 2015, is composed of three main parts, a town, a mine and a medieval castle that is transformed in our times into an attraction being visited by groups of tourists.

Diorama #5

Day by day, for over ten days, the castle was being demolished gradually with LEGO machines, using cranes, trucks and wagons and the pieces were finally removed.

Diorama #6

For the winter months, I created a haunted forest where the law was made by the Monsters minifigures of the 14th Series. I also created a winter fun park.

Diorama #7

As LEGO Friends and LEGO Nexo Knights have theoretically nothing in common, I managed to separate and still create a link between the two parts of the same work.

Diorama #8

The project requested by the store was to replicate as much as possible the sets and scenes of the recently released The LEGO Ninjago Movie.
