Being a Diorama which was going to be exhibited during the winter months, in the Cucubau shop window, I had begun the project imagining a haunted forest where the law was made by the Monsters minifigures of the 14th Series. I also created a winter fun park, the Cucubau Winter Fun Park.

Cucubau Winter Fun Park

I have gone through the paradox of a winter fun park being inspired by my visit at Oktoberfest and Prater in Vienna. I’ve decided to try to recreate the atmosphere of this kind of park and the only concession I had to make was regarding my limited budget for the number of white pieces to represent the snow which, as in reality, has become more and more remote. Several minifigures have worked a lot in order to clear away the snow with special machines.

The park consists of many attractions, for which tickets have to be bought and also many kiosks situated on the main alley, a small train station and a Christmas fair. The park is surrounded by a train railway with a utility train crossing it. Two of my friends, have each lent me an official LEGO set, GrigoreTomoiaga (The Pyramid) and IulianDobre (The Winter Village Market).

Overall view

The Ferris Wheel

The Ferris Wheel is an official LEGO set but I’ve motorized it and hidden the electrical part in a small house and the battery box can be turned on and off through the window of the house. I’ve also transformed the ground into a winter scenery.

Ice Skating Rink

The Star Wars Adventure

I’ve designed it as a funfair wheel and its main attractions are the Star Wars ships from the official LEGO polybags which I haven’t modified too much on purpose. Although they aren’t motorized, they can spin.

The Pirates’ Adventure

This one resembles the underwater fun parks. The members of the staff are dressed up as pirates and soldiers and the minifigure “clients” are crossing the water on rafts.

The Egypt Adventure

The Sky Fall Adventure

Inspired by the highest free fall tower in the world and also an important tourist attraction at Oktoberfest, it is also my tallest creation ever made from LEGO bricks. It wasn’t my intention to make an identical replica of it, but the platform slides on the tower and I’ve also added a cashpoint. For more details on the real tower, please visit www.goetzke.de and, if given the chance, you should also try the Sky Fall sensation.

The Fairground Mixer

The Carousel

The Christmas Fair

This project consists of: Santa’s toy workshop, the Christmas tree, the sleigh and reindeer (including Rudolf, which went for a walk and had to be allured back with apples), a post office, a restaurant, a grocery, food and drinks kiosks, a Christmas tree salesman and a ski and snowboard service shop. An attraction point is represented by the mini-train, which takes the visitors – the tired visitors, on different adventures through the fun park.

The Surroundings

The Haunted Forest

After crossing the mysterious lake, Scooby Doo and his friends pinned the boat to shore and start to cut down the tree branches to find the path which leads to the castle. But just as they had thought, these places were haunted and their boat disappeared right after they had arrived. All the monsters and ghosts in the forest were with their eyes on them.

Hänsel and Gretel discovered in the woods a Gingerbread House and started to eat from it.

At the Witch Twin Sisters Castle all the ghosts were waiting for Scooby Doo. The witches flew out the windows on their brooms to “greet” the unwanted guests.

The flying prison carriage was circling above the haunted forest.

Would Scooby Doo and his friends manage to get away from all these dangers and get to the Gingerbread House to save Hansel and Gretel from the Evil Witch?
